Women’s soccer breaks out offense to take down Blackburn

The Webster University women’s soccer team outshot the Blackburn College (Ill.) Beavers 55-1 in a 5-0 win. The victory was the first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win of the season for the Gorloks, which puts their overall record at 8-3.

At 12 minutes, freshman forward Lauren Pratt scored her seventh goal of the season to put Webster up 1-0.

The Gorloks then had a rapid-fire scoring attack with three goals coming in a three-minute span. Junior midfield Ally Nikolaus, sophomore forward Kristin Montgomery and freshman defender Briana Small each found the net to put Webster up 4-0 at halftime.

Junior striker Jordan Fosburgh capped the evening with a goal with eight minutes remaining.

Webster’s next task is SLIAC opponent Spalding University (Ky.) on Friday, Oct. 5 at St. Louis Soccer Park at 1 p.m.
