Track and field teams break several school records at WashU Invitational
Despite sending only 15 athletes to the Washington University Invitational on March 30 and 31, the Webster University track and field teams set numerous school records.
Track and field teams have strong showing at meet
Aided by junior Gretchen Rieger’s sensational performance in the javelin throw, the Webster University track and field program opened the season on a high note at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird meet on March 19. Rieger won her event and set a school record with a throw of 38.94 meters. It was an outstanding day for the Gorloks, as several athletes either broke school records or had personal bests.
Stackhouse shines, but track teams have lackluster performances at WashU meet
For the second consecutive weekend, the Webster track teams participated in a meet hosted by Washington University. Eroica Stackhouse broke two school records, but that was overshadowed by what coach Dusty Lopez called a “flat” meet by the Gorloks.

Even though Webster University junior Gretchen Rieger is a record-setting javelin thrower on the women’s track and field team and a starting outside hitter on the volleyball team, she is not just a two-sport star. She is a special education major who has already dedicated to help today’s youth by participating in the UrbanFUTURE tutoring program.
