A guide to just a few organizations that Webster University has to offer. For more suggestions, Involved@Webster can provide a full organization list.
Webster University Feminist Collective
The Feminist Collective is a relatively new club at Webster. Through putting on yearly events and performances like “The Vagina Monologues,” the Collective promotes and empowers the environment for women on campus. Their first meeting is on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 9:30 p.m. in the University Center.
Webster LGBTQ Alliance
For those looking to support and get involved in the LGBTQ population on campus, head over to the University Center at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4. Alliance Drag Ball in the spring, is one of Webster’s most attended events. Check out Alliance’s Facebook page for other events that are hosted throughout the school year.
Religious Organizations
For those in search of a religious outlet on campus, Webster offers a Catholic Student Union, the Muslim Students Association and Cru (a Christian organization). Each group’s information can be found on Facebook. Be sure to stop by the quad for a free snow cone from Cru on Tuesday, August 26 and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Video Game Club
Let loose with the Video Game Club (VGC). Throughout the year, VGC will host events on campus. Some of their most popular events last school year were the Mario Kart tournament and their annual Super Smash Bros. tournament. Keep an eye out for VGC’s new events, which will be posted to their Facebook group page during the year.
Surfacing Theatre
Students who participate in Surfacing Theatre get a chance to act, write, direct or work backstage for any of the club’s yearly performances, and it isn’t just for conservatory students. Auditions for the musical revue will be held at the beginning of the semester. Surfacing also puts on the Spring One-Act Festival, monologue festivals and other events throughout the year.
