Women’s soccer blasts North Central, 5-1

The Webster University women’s soccer team defeated North Central College (Ill.) 5-1 on Saturday, Sept. 22 at St. Louis Soccer Park. The win moves the Gorloks’ record to 6-2.

Webster got on the board in the 11th minute with a goal by junior forward Jordan Fosburgh. Fosburgh’s goal was the only score in the first half.

North Central tied it up in the 53rd minute with a 35-yard bomb to make it 1-1.

Thirty seconds after North Central tied it, Webster answered with a goal by junior midfielder Ally Nikolaus. From that moment on, Webster took control of the game, scoring three more goals, including a breakaway goal with two minutes left by sophomore striker Kristin Montgomery.

Other goals were scored by freshmen forward Lauren Pratt, her team-leading sixth of the year, and defender Jessica Mess.

The Gorloks will take on 12th-ranked Washington University on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Soccer Park at 7:30 p.m.
