Playing while Black: A look into Black student-athletes’ lives

Senior Lance Hatten is outspoken about Black Lives Matter on and off the court. In late 2020, he used his platform and created a podcast to help spread awareness and to raise his voice. Hatten explained that “being a college athlete gives me a bit of a platform to be able to bring people together, and allow for people to see some of what I go through as a black athlete as far as stereotypes and preconceived notions.”
