Working and going to school full-time makes everything else seem impossible. It’s hard to envision your future when so much is going on in your life. I never thought I’d share an online business with my partner, let alone have the time for it, but somehow his inspiration led us down a good path. It’s possible for anyone nowadays to start their own business, but you have to start today. Motivation and hard work is the key to success.
I’ve always been worried about making money. I’ve seen so many people, including my family, struggle to make ends meet. The simple things like replacing a dishwasher when it breaks or getting a new engine for a car becomes more challenging than it should be. I’ve lived paycheck to paycheck before and that is not something I want to live with forever. Creating the online business, which is named Ezpeazey, with my partner has created more stress, however I know it’s setting me up for a good future.
I know first hand that it’s easy for students to live day by day and not fully plan for the future. Getting a degree is great, but anything can happen once you graduate, including nothing. Once you find a job, you could realize it’s not for you or the job could let you go. It’s important to have multiple fields of income to prevent yourself from living paycheck to paycheck. It’s a good way to express yourself creatively and gives you new, refreshing experiences.
I’m the type of person that lives in the moment, but when I met my partner, he inspired me to do better and plan for my future. He has spent at least 900 hours the last few months creating the website for our products and learned as much as possible to help the business succeed. All of the time he spent inspired me to take action with my life.
College is a good time to start a business because there are resources available for students like the library, mentors, staff, etc. Plus, technology is so advanced, which makes researching and connecting easier. Setting goals for yourself is the best way to start. Choose a role model that inspires you to work hard and be the person you aspire to be. If it doesn’t work out, then that’s okay because you have your degree. There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Something I like to do is research people who have made a name for themselves like Mark Cuban. Entrepreneur mentions how Cuban’s net worth is currently $3.4 billion, but all of his success came from multiple failures. He believes it’s important for all entrepreneurs to fail because it teaches us what to look out for next time. Struggling is what made him motivated.
Ezpeazey was created over the summer of last year. The goal is to provide consumers with easy and convenient products that help with daily tasks like cleaning up around the house and organization. After extensive research on each product, we build connections with manufacturers to enhance on our long term business. We customize each product from the way it’s designed to the way it’s packaged.
Hard work can make anything happen. The first step is to imagine where you want to be. Make a list of goals and include the date you want to achieve them by. Be prepared to spend hours researching. Knowledge is power and becoming an expert in what you’re doing is essential.
I never thought this would be a part of my future. Starting your own company at a young age is challenging, but if you turn something you love into work, it becomes a lot easier. It also comes down to the mindset you have. If you don’t believe in what you’re doing, then it won’t happen. It’s also important to understand that failing is part of the process.
