The Extra Point: Webster Pitcher Zach Schneider’s road to recovery

Webster University baseball senior pitcher Zach Schneider has seen it all. He battled through shoulder and knee injuries his sophomore and junior years, and now plays a key part into the Gorlok starting rotation. Schneider was named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) pitcher of the week March 10. after his shutout against the Wartburg College (Iowa.) Knights in six-innings of work. In yesterday’s matchup against the Illinois Wesleyan Titans, Schneider threw seven-shutout innings and struck out three batters. In this weeks episode of The Extra Point, Schneider will join us to talk about his performance, his road to recovery and his expectations for the rest of the season.

The Extra Point is an hour-long weekly sports talk show hosted by Galaxy sports director Scott Lunte, sports reporter Sam Masterson and Journal staff writer Taylor Overstreet. The show primarily focuses on the weekly topics in Webster Athletics, and exposes the personalities of athletes and coaches through an informal interview setting.
