The Webster University softball team ended its regular season on a three-game winning streak as the Gorloks topped the Principia College Panthers 10-2 in five innings on Saturday, April 28 in Elsah, Ill.

If the second game of the doubleheader — which was called due to rain — is not made up, the Gorloks’ regular season is over. Webster’s record is 17-20 overall and 11-4 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, which puts the Gorloks in third place.

There are no announcements thus far as to a possible make-up of the rained-out game.

Sophomore pitcher Trisha Thompson (10-9)  pitched her 13th complete game of the season en route to her 10th win. The 10 wins is a career high for her at Webster. Sophomore infielder Kristie Konersmann went 3 for 4 with an RBI, her 18th of the season.

Fontbonne University is 13-1 in the SLIAC . In second place is Spalding University at 11-3, but the Golden Eagles are not eligible to qualify for the SLIAC tournament this season. Blackburn College holds down fourth place with a 7-5 record and is a possible first-round matchup for Webster in the SLIAC tourney.

The SLIAC tournament will begin Thursday, May 3 at ABC Park in Saint Ann, Fontbonne’s home facility. Webster has already qualified for the SLIAC tournament and will likely be the No. 2 seed. Fontbonne will be the No. 1 seed. Seeds 3 and 4 have yet to be determined.
