Find Basics at Dollar Tree

If there is a Dollar Tree nearby, that is where all the essentials will be for extremely low prices. Basic needs like plates, cups, sodas, and snacks will cost just $1.25. There is even a Dollar Tree Plus section in the store where full-sized pizzas and 14-ounce ice cream jars are available to buy for up to $5. To save even more money and possibly gain more snacks and drinks, take a potluck approach. Promote all the party go-ers to grab some items to bring with them to the watch party as well.

Simplicity is Key

To accomplish the goal of keeping it low-budget, keeping the party simple is the way to go. Unnecessarily extensive food choices or a high amount of decorations will lead to the possibility of wasted food and unnecessary money spent. In reality, decorations are not needed for a watch party, especially if it is being thrown inside of a dorm room. The space is already limited, so keep the list of necessities limited as well. As long as the TV is on and working that’s all that is needed.

Focus on the Atmosphere

At a party, the atmosphere is everything. With no vibe, there is no party. The goal is to promote interaction. Ensure that the party guests have comfortable areas to sit and hang out. For dorms, turn a bed into a nice couch, go around and ask for extra chairs. Keep the food and drinks in accessible areas. When the big game comes on, make sure everyone has a good view of the game for a better overall experience.

Be Aware of the Space

Understand the amount of space that the room has. Since most college parties are thrown inside of dorms or apartments, it takes some creative adjustments to still maintain a colorful area. Be sure not to overcrowd the area. Give people room to spread out. Remove anything that is unnecessary from the room and store it in the proper spot.

Not much is needed for a Super Bowl party. The goal is to create a fun and engaging atmosphere for everyone involved. For first-time hosts, it does not have to be a complicated setup. Always remember the main reason everyone is there is to chit-chat and watch. No need to go over the top.
