A streak stays alive after the Gorloks’ latest win.

Webster volleyball defeated Blackburn College 3-0 outscoring them 51-37 in the match. Lauren Borik extended her double-digit point streak to seven straight matches with ten kills in the contest.
In the third set Webster sealed the match in dominating fashion with a 25-8 win. This is the widest margin of victory this season and the Gorloks improve their overall record to 8-9, and SLIAC record to 5-3.
In the second set Webster held an eight-point lead before allowing Blackburn to 10 of the next 11 points to put the Beavers ahead 23-21. Webster would regroup and take the final four points of the set to win 25-23.
The Gorloks took the first set 25-20 thanks in part to six kills by Jordan Price which led the team. Blackburn was not able to capture the lead throughout the entire set.
Webster posted their highest attack percentage of the season (.262). This beat their previous high of .232 against Greenville. Gorlok setter Jenna Rodriguez posted 22 assists which ties her second-best total of the season, and her best total in a three-set match.
Webster Volleyball will play a home double-header on Friday, October 11. The first match is at 5 p.m. against Spalding University. Then they will play MacMurray College at 7 p.m.
