Webster University’s women’s basketball team came into their game against Westminster college on a 5-game winning streak. The Gorloks were 8-5 on the season 5-2 in conference play coming into the game.
The Gorloks got off to a slow start, trailing 19-6 after the first quarter and 31-17 at half.
After trailing by 17 after three quarters, the Gorloks brought the game back to 11 with 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter, but two dagger three’s by Blue Jay’s Andrea Zalis kept the deficit to double digits.
Megan Brandt led the team in scoring with 17 points on 75% shooting.
The women’s team plays next Jan. 16 against Spalding University.
