Pipe burst in Sverdrup IT room causes service delay

Non-emergency requests to the Information Techonlogy (IT) department will be put on hold until further notice after a sprinkler pipe burst in Sverdrup room 107’s equipment storage area, on Jan. 7.
The pipe burst compromised a large portion of extra IT hardware reserved for repairs and upgrades, according to a email sent out by the IT department. The department asks for only emergency requests that require hardware to be made until further notice.
“The university’s Facilities, Real Estate, Procurment and Public Safety teams are working together to correct this situation as quickly as possible,” according to an email sent out by the IT department.
All personnel were evacuated and unharmed the day of the incident
