A project known as Win- Win has helped colleges regain contact with ex-students who have gained enough credits to complete an associate degree, or are a few classes away from meeting the criteria for them. This project hopes to boost degree completion at respective universities.

More than 60 schools in six states are using this method to boost college graduation rates, using databases to find students who qualify for degrees. The project began a few years ago with 35 colleges, supported by the Lumina Foundation for Education. The project has diminished over the years, but some schools are still taking initiative to continue the practices on their own, such as St. Louis Community College.
