The Webster University softball team took both games of a doubleheader against the MacMurray College Highlanders on April 21 at Blackburn Park. Webster won Game 1 7-1 and Game 2 9-0 in five innings. The games were the last regular season home contests scheduled for Webster at Blackburn Park in 2012.
Game 2 saw Webster University sophomore Trisha Thompson throw her second no-hitter of the season. Thompson also threw a no-hitter on March 29 versus Westminster College.
The day’s games puts MacMurray at 6-25 on the year and a 1-13 record in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Gorloks are now in second place in the SLIAC with a 16-20 record overall and a 10-4 mark in the SLIAC. Fontbonne University currently leads the SLIAC softball standings.
Softball’s 2012 regular season games will wrap up on Saturday, April 28 with a doubleheader at Principia College in Elsah, Ill., beginning at 1 p.m.
