Webster University softball improved its St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record to 3-1 with a doubleheader sweep over the Eurkea College Red Devils in Eurkea, Ill., on March 31. The Gorloks were coming off a split to the hands of Westminster College on March 29. The day’s wins puts softball at 7-15 overall.
In game 1, junior Ashley Meagher earned the victory with outfielder Danielle LaVenture, sophomore, plating 4 RBIs as Webster was victorious 5-1.
Game 2 saw Webster put up the offense with a 11-2 (F/6) win. The Gorloks will travel to Carlinville, Ill., to face fellow SLIAC member Blackburn College (7-6, 2-2 SLIAC) on April 4 at 4 p.m. The next home games for the Gorloks will be against conference opponent Greenville College (7-12, 1-2 SLIAC) on April 6 at 5 p.m. at Blackburn Park in St. Louis, Mo.
