The Webster University women’s soccer team lost 0-1 to the University of Chicago in Chicago in the first round of the NCAA division-III tournament on Nov 15. The loss ended the season for the Gorloks, who had won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) tournament on Nov. 7.

The Gorloks posted a record of 14-5-3 during the regular season and went unbeaten in conference play. However, for the third straight year, their season ends in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The loss ends the collegiate careers of seven seniors on Webster’s squad, three of whom — goalkeeper Jessica Davis, midfielder Lindsey Adshade and defender Amy Schield — received first team all-conference honors. Schield was also named co-defensive player of the year in the SLIAC.

Chicago, the number one seed in the region, will now face Augsburg College on Nov. 16.
