The Webster University Alumni and Development department has organized a weeklong campaign dedicated to philanthropy. The campaign, known as “I Heart WU,” will take place Nov. 18-22. It was created to further educate students about how important donors are to students’ Webster experience.
The main component of the campaign is called “The Great Thanks Project.” This is an opportunity for the Webster community to write letters to donors about their personal Webster experience. The participants will draw a donor’s name from a bowl before writing, and the first 300 will receive a free “I Heart WU” t-shirt.
The campaign also provides Webster students, faculty and staff with an opportunity to give back to the university. The “Pie in Your Eye” event allows them to throw pies at Webster community members for $1. Members also get the opportunity to smash the pie in the volunteer’s face for $5. All donations are for student scholarships.
