Webster University ‘s The Journal newspaper has been selected as one of the 2013 ACP Pacemaker Finalists in the four-year, non-daily newspaper category.
The Journal’s former copy chief and layout editor Josh Sellmeyer and current sports editor Sam Masterson have also been announced as finalists in the 2013 ACP multimedia story of the year. For the last 86 years the Associated Collegiate Press Newspaper Pacemaker has awarded collegiate newspapers for quality news coverage.
Every year colleges nationwide submit entries in hopes of being one of the selected few finalists. Pieces submitted were judged on cover and content, quality of writing, in-depth reporting, layout and design as well as photography and graphics. Members of Miami Herald staff will be judging the 22 finalists in this year contest, which will be held in New Orleans on October 26.
