The Confucius Institute at Webster University was recently given the title of “Confucius Institute of the Year” by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

Webster received the award for its many Chinese-centric programs. Webster sponsors two-week long Chinese immersion trips for local high school students, hosts Chinese summer camps for children K-12, and teaches Chinese language and culture to 42 St. Louis K-12 schools.

“The ‘Confucius Institute of the Year’ award is a great honor for Webster University,” Deborah Pierce, director of Webster’s Center for International Education and Confucius Institute, said on Webster Today.

Webster was selected out of more than 400 Confucius Institutes around the world.
