Webster University student A.J. Wallace awoke at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, to find a group of drunken non-residents removing items from the back of his truck. He said he heard noises outside his window from the Webster Village Apartment (WVA) Building 5.
“I saw them go into the back of my truck and they took a few things out like a quilt and grabbed a hockey helmet I had back there,” Wallace said. “They were actually throwing it around the parking lot and hit some cars with it.”
The suspects threw Wallace’s helmet at a resident’s car, leaving a small, black mark. They also kicked off a side-view mirror of another car.
“My first instinct was to go confront them, but then I decided maybe it wasn’t a good idea to confront five drunk people, so I called Public Safety,” Wallace said.
The Public Safety Office Clery Report stated suspects were arrested by the Webster Groves Police Department.
Wallace said he would not press charges for the minimal damage the suspects did to his belongings. It is unknown whether the other residents will press charges.
