The Webster University men’s soccer team finished up its nonconference schedule with a 1-0 win over the Illinois College Blue Boys on Saturday, Sept. 29 at St. Louis Soccer Park.
Junior Jarrod Huskey started his first game as goalie. He, along with a dominant Webster defense, helped secure the victory.
Senior defender Kyle Leonard scored his first goal of the season to put Webster up 1-0 in the 75th minute.
The victory ended a 0-2-1 streak for the Gorloks and puts their overall record at 4-4-1. Webster begins St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play in a showdown with Blackburn College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at St. Louis Soccer Park.
