The Webster University volleyball team headed to Elsah, Ill., on Saturday, Sept. 15 to take on St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents Spalding University (Ky.) and Greenville College (Ill.). Webster, coming off a conference win against Westminster on Tuesday, Sept. 11, defeated Spalding 3-0 in their first match.
Later that day, the Gorloks took on the Panthers of Greenville. Webster was swept 3-0 to the Panthers who now lead the SLIAC (7-5, 3-0). Webster defeated Greenville in last year’s SLIAC championship.
The day’s matches puts Webster at 3-6 overall in 2012 with a 2-1 SLIAC record. The Gorloks are back on the road in Carlinville, Ill., on Tuesday, Sept. 18 to take on the Blackburn College Beavers (0-5 at publishing time) at 7 p.m.
