The Webster University softball team dropped its sixth and seventh consecutive games on Saturday, March 24. The Gorloks were shut out in both games of the doubleheader at Blackburn Park, as Webster fell to the Illinois Wesleyan University Titans, 9-0 and 13-0. The defeats put Webster at 4-14 on the 2012 season.

The Gorloks went into the games with less-than-stellar spring break trips to California and Indiana. The squad went 1-11 over spring break after successfully opening the season 3-1 earlier this month.

In the first game, Illinois Wesleyan sophomore lefty Molly McCready pitched all five innings in a shortened game, surrendering just one hit to Webster. The Gorloks would eventually lose 9-0. In the second game, Webster fell 13-0 in another five-inning contest. Webster has now lost seven straight games and is 1-13 in its last 14 games.

The Gorloks will look to right the ship whey they get St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play started by hosting a doubleheader versus the Westminster College Blue Jays on Thursday, March 29. Game 1 is slated to begin at 4 p.m. at Blackburn Park.
