It was a four-peat for the Webster University Chamber Singers when they performed with Josh Groban at the Starlite Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. This performance marked their fourth with the singer.

The Chamber Singers first performed with Groban at the Peabody Opera House October 19, 2015, where the group performed backing vocals to the songs “Anthem” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” They went on a seven-day tour in Florida, where they also performed two more gigs with Groban.

Department of Music Chair Jeffrey Carter said in a statement to Webster University News that Groban’s agents asked the group to perform with Groban in Kansas City.

“We moved heaven and earth and airline tickets, and we made it happen,” Carter said in the statement. “Now when Josh’s tour hit Kansas City, 20 Webster students answered the call to start the school year early by joining the superstar on stage at this outdoor amphitheater across the state.”

The group performed “an emotional reading of ‘Dust and Ashes,’” according to Webster University News.

The performances were part of Groban’s tour promoting his album “Stages,” which features songs from Broadway.

“We really are the go-to choir in St. Louis, with some recognition in central Florida and in Kansas City,” Associate professor of Music Trent Patterson said in a statement to Webster University News.
