Paperwork was filed Tuesday, March 29, with Webster’s Study Abroad office for a new short-term program taking students to Florence, Italy.

The program is titled, Fire in the City: Florence and the European Renaissance, and is hoped to be offered to students in Spring 2017.

Adjunct Professor Kyle Lincoln will be teaching the course.

“Ideally, I would like students to gain wider appreciation of the importance of our public discourse and politics in the life and growth of the city” Lincoln said.

While full approval has yet to be confirmed, Lincoln said Fire in the City could help grant students with tighter financial means, another economical way to study abroad in Florence.

“I would be taking them to some of the great sites….the Uffizi and the Santa Maria Novella,” Lincoln said.

The cities of Pisa and Sienna are also on the roster as day trips.
