Webster University came into their game against Westminster playing for first place in the St. Louis Athletic Conference.

Iowa Wesleyan has the best conference record, but is currently ineligible for conference tournament due to their recent addition to the SLIAC conference.

After a quick start by the Gorloks and junior guard C.J. Moore, Webster trailed at halftime 33-29.

Turnovers were the story of the second half. The Gorloks committed 19 total and were unable to grab a lead against the Blue Jays in the second half.

Westminster’s senior center, Matt Murphy, dominated in the second half. Murphy scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half using his size mismatch (6’8″ 250) against the smaller Gorlok lineup.

The final score of the game was 67-61 in favor of the Blue Jays.

The Gorloks’ next game is Jan. 16 against Spalding University.
