Webster Geneva student Abdullah Aljarboa died Saturday after he drowned while swimming in the Rhône River, according to a press release on Webster Today.
Aljarboa, a freshman at Webster Geneva, began attending the university in January 2013. Aljarboa was from Saudi Arabia and was a resident of Les Berges du Rhône in France.
In a statement, Webster Geneva Director Willem Jan Hofmans and Academic Director Ron Daniel wrote: “Though he was only with us for a short time, Abdullah was a well-liked student and a passionate member of the Webster Geneva football team. We have expressed our deep condolences and offer of assistance to Abdullah’s family. Our hearts go out to them.”
